Alex Burg is enrolled in his fifth year at Penn State, majoring in Architectural Engineering, structures option. Mr. Burg also has a minor in Architecture which was obtained while studying abroad in Rome, Italy. Alex will be graduating this upcoming spring, in May 2012. When he is finished up with his studies he plans on practicing to become a Professional Engineer to help better his knowledge in structures.

For the past three summers, Alex has stayed rather busy while getting work experience and pursuing his knowledge for higher education. This past summer he was interning at JMT as a structural engineer in their Facilities Structure Department. He gained great knowledge in the structural engineering field while working on many projects. The summer before that he studied abroad in Rome with the Sede di Roma program offered by the Pantheon Institute. In summer 2009 he interned at Penn States Applied Research Lab (ARL), and there he helped do research on laser welding.

Outside of school Alex participates as a mentor and mentee in the Student Society of Architectural Engineering (SSAE). Activites Alex also enjoys are camping, fishing, boating, jogging, and playing sports (especially soccer).
